01Who we are

StopTemptations is an app that blocks gambling websites, including skin gambling sites and crypto casinos, in every browser on your device. This policy covers the app and the website you are reading right now.

Questions, concerns, or something in this policy that does not match what you see the product doing? Email us at support@stoptemptations.com. Reports like that get read first.

02What we do not collect

This is the part most privacy policies bury. We will lead with it instead:

• No browsing history. We do not collect, log or transmit the pages you visit. Ever.
• No visited URLs. Not the blocked ones, not the allowed ones. The blocker does not phone home about anything you type or click.
• No personal data sent to any server by the blocker itself. The free tier works with zero data leaving your device.

How is that possible for a blocker? Because of how it is built. StopTemptations keeps the blocklist on your device and enforces it locally, at the system level, so gambling domains are stopped before they load in any browser. The app never needs to inspect the contents of your traffic, and we never need a server in the loop to block a site.

03What stays on your device

The app stores a small amount of data locally on your device:

• The blocked-attempts counter, so the app can show you how often it stepped in.
• Your settings, so your preferences survive a restart.

This data lives only on your device. It is not transmitted to us or anyone else, and we could not read it if we wanted to. Uninstall the app and your device deletes it.

04Premium payments

Premium costs €2.99 per month or €24.99 per year, and you pay via the secure checkout on this site, handled by Shopify Payments. Here is the honest part: we never see or store your card details.

Payments are handled by Shopify, the platform that runs our checkout:

• Shopify Payments processes the payment. It receives the details you enter at checkout, such as your card number and billing address.
• Our Shopify store keeps your order and subscription status, so we can manage renewals, cancellations and refunds. We see your name, email address and what you bought, never your card number.

05The accountability partner feature (Premium)

If you use the accountability partner feature, you give us one piece of personal data on purpose: the email address of the person you chose. We store it for exactly one job: sending that person two types of notification email.

• An uninstall notice, sent when the app is removed from your device.
• A blocked-attempt digest, letting them know the blocker stepped in.

Your partner never receives your browsing history. They cannot see what you do online, and they cannot control your device. The emails exist to start a conversation, not to surveil you.

You stay in charge: you can change or remove your partner at any time in the app settings. Remove them and the notifications stop.

Worth saying out loud: please add someone with their knowledge. The feature works because you chose them, not because they were watching.

06No selling, no ads, no trackers

• We do not sell or share your data with third parties. There is barely any data to sell, and we would not sell it if there were.
• The app shows no ads. Our business model is the Premium subscription, full stop.
• The app contains no analytics trackers. No usage beacons, no third-party tracking scripts.

A gambling blocker holds a sensitive fact about you by its very existence. Treating that with respect is not a feature, it is the baseline.

07This website

The site at stoptemptations.com runs on Shopify. The informational pages run no analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles of who reads this policy. If you use the cart or checkout, Shopify sets the functional cookies needed to process your order, as described in the Shopify privacy policy. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; beyond that and Shopify's own infrastructure, the page makes no third-party requests.

08Deleting your data

Because almost everything lives on your device, deletion is refreshingly simple:

• Local data: uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data, including the blocked-attempts counter and your settings. Your device handles this automatically.
• Partner email: remove your accountability partner in the settings and we stop using their address.
• Premium purchase data: your order details live in our Shopify store. Email support@stoptemptations.com and we will delete or anonymise them where the law allows (tax rules require us to keep basic invoice records for a period).

09Changes to this policy

If we change how the product handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. No silent edits. The current version took effect on 6 July 2026.
